Season 1
Song Yunhui, a talented technician, overcomes discrimination to build a promising career but becomes consumed by ambition. In contrast, his brother-in-law Lei Dongbao, a tough village leader, gains respect during economic reform but is held back by his lack of education. Meanwhile, Yang Xun seizes opportunities during the changing times to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams.
Season 2
Song Yunhui becomes the youngest deputy at Donghai Chemical, but his success creates personal and professional challenges. Lei Dongbao faces difficulties but perseveres with support from Wei Chunhong. Yang Xun navigates business setbacks and personal loss, with help from accountant Ren Xiayuan. Liang Sishen, a foreign manager, frequently interacts with Song Yunhui, and despite their differences, they come to respect each other’s abilities.
Season 3
In June 1993, Song Yunfei led Donghai Chemical’s joint venture with Luoda Company while revitalizing the struggling Pengyang Pesticide Factory by developing low-toxic, high-efficiency pesticides. Lei Dongbao merged small factories to form the Thunder Cable Cluster, navigating complex human relations while prioritizing the community. Yang Xiaolei and Liang Sishen collaborated on business ventures, each facing their own challenges. Throughout it all, Song Yunfei and Liang Sishen supported each other, demonstrating perseverance and dedication to their goals.
